Are there any beter present reminders of the absolute power of Emperor Palpatine than the Stromtroopers? Of course not! Okay, they aim terrible and hit almost nothing, but if you are building a Star Wars toyline for you son, than there must be Stormtroopers! And so I build a couple...
Stormtroopers were the elite soldiers of the Galactic Empire. These faceless enforcers of the New Order were considered an extension of the Emperor's will, and thus they often used efficient yet usually unreasonable tactics as a way to keep thousands of star systems throughout the galaxy in line. At the height of the Empire, stormtroopers had effectively become symbols of major authority.
The Imperial stormtroopers were the evolution of the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic. By the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY, the Galactic Republic was reorganized into the first Galactic Empire. As a result, the Grand Army was reformed into the Stormtrooper Corps and the clones were renamed "stormtroopers."
Members of the Rebel Alliance SpecForce had several slang names for stormtroopers, including whitehats, plastic soldiers, snowmen, The Boys in White, bucketheads, plastic boys."
With these Stromtroopers I've build a fast and mobile transport speeder. This is a scratch build that I made from leftovers. The design is made up while building. I call it the FA-MT (Fast Action ā Multiple Transport) A fast moving, and compact landspeeder that can be used for transport of goods, soldiers or both at the same time!
While watching Star Wars Rebels with my son it struck my mind that a huge organization as the Empire needs some serious transport department to get all the troops and supplies on the right place, on the right time to oppress its citizens correctly. Of course the (Kenner) transporters that can be seen on Star Wars Rebels look nicely, but after several attempts to build a transporter like that, and failing dramatically at it, I thought it was about time to help the little wooden Emperor out on this matter with my own speeder.
My son liked the FA-MT big time! With this little verhicle and the Stormtroopers his little Star Wars galaxy is expanding and expanding. And I? I love to see him play with all these little squareheads :)
