Missing some essentials

After I gave my son the Dart Vader figure, he almost instantly asked me about some other figures he needed to play the correct Star Wars story. Asking him which figures that he would like me to build, he replied with a couple of names that had also could guessed for my self...

C3PO, R2D2 and Yoda... he also asked for Boba Fett, but that one I did not thought of my self...

C3PO, Yoda and Boba Fett would not be a issue to build, but how on Alderan should I build an Astromech droid from wood? Working with the squares would not be an option... that would not make any sence. So I just started at preparing the parts that I needed for the other figures hoping a solution would come to me while building... and it did!!

Below you can see the parts that I used to build these figures. All cilinders and squares... and... a rounded cilinder with two small legs for the R2D2 figure.
